THE Essential List for Staying Motivated and Inspired

THE Essential List for Staying Motivated and Inspired

how to stay motivated

Whatever your goals are, staying on the path to achieving them is much easier if you are bolstered by inspiration and motivation. Sadly, there are times when you are going to struggle with that. When this happens, you are at risk for losing your drive and focus. Don’t let this happen! Here is a list of actions that you can take to stay motivated and inspired.

Call For Motivation (infographics)

  1. Keep at Least one Motivational Book on Your Desk and Read it Daily

A book such as “Think and Grow Rich“, by Napoleon Hill is a great choice. The author spoke with 40 millionaires before determining the formula for success and motivation. Another classic is “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”, by Stephen Covey.

  1. Watch an Inspirational Movie

The Shawshank Redemption is certainly one great example of a movie that inspires. Another great source of inspiration is the movie “Rudy”. A movie that makes you feel great is almost like spending time with a therapist. Of course, you don’t have to look to older movies. Pay attention to upcoming movies and treat yourself to a feel good flick.

  1. Get Inspired by an Amazing Person

If you are feeling down, take a moment to consider the story of the heroic young woman, Malala Yousafzai. In spite of being shot and left for dead by the Taliban for attempting to get an education, Malala still champions for the right of all girls in the Middle East to receive an education.

  1. Find a Successful Person for Inspiration and Keep a few of their Quotes Nearby

Walt Disney once said “If you can dream it, you can do it!” If that’s not inspirational to you, find a quote that is. Then, make sure it is in a place where you can see it every day. Not sure where to put it? Snap a picture of it, and make it your lock screen picture.

  1. Crank it Up!

We all have at least one song that gets us pumped up and makes us feel motivated. If your goals are fitness oriented, you could certainly look to an upbeat song such as “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor. “We are the Champions” by queen is another possibility. If soulful is more your style, try looking up “Ain’t no Mountain High Enough”, sung by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, and written by Ashford and Simpson.
